One of my favourite memories of Mr. Taylor was watching him monitor the 2014 Brantford municipal election results. His son Mike and his family had offered their house to those of us who had worked on Cheryl Antoski's campaign so we could all follow the results together. Mr Taylor was right on top of each update and correctly predicted Cheryl's victory early in the evening. It was a joy to watch the satisfaction in Mr. Taylor's eyes and body language when she was officially announced as one of the winners of Ward 4. As it turned out it was Mr. Taylor's last campaign and I am so happy it was a winner. Although he was involved in politics for much of his life, he set an example of taking the high road at all times which I am sure he imparted to Cheryl and also to a few of the other city councillors who chose to follow his example.
Mr Taylor will be missed by me and everyone else who will be involved in the 2018 municipal election and for many years after.
RIP Robert Taylor. Your work here is completed.
