Condolence: I don't think we ever thought that this day would come as we felt Auntie Pauline would outlive everyone. She was always there for us, like all of our aunties and uncles, when we needed them . We will miss her smiling face, her warm hugs and her great sense of humour. Auntie Pauline will be in our hearts forever.

Condolence: Pauline--- what can I say that hasn`t been said so many times? I worked with Pauline many years ago at Sheridan Place. Her kindness to "our" ladies was unmatched! She loved her whole family unconditionally! After Sheridan Place closed some of the staff were invited to small gatherings at her apt. She was always a gracious hostess, and made sure her guests had a fun time. I was pleased to be able to attend her 90th birthday party., and to realise we knew many friends outside of work! So many have gone before her! Ironically, I was thinking of her the day she died-- that I should be putting a birthday card in the mail! I think of Pauline with love and respect, and memories of her kind listening ear! With kind thoughts and prayers--- Marion Brose.

Condolence: How do you sum up a life well lead, full of love, laughter and joy? I'm not quite sure, but having the privilege of being Pauline's "granddaughter' for nearly 20 years has made me realize that even when life might be unfair and sad, there is always something to be celebrated.
Her unconditional love for us, her laughter, stories and her hilarious valentines day cards and thoughtful birthday cards ( that were sometimes filled with inappropriate clippings from her favourite magazines) make us thankful to have been a part of her life.
Its hard not to be sad, although Dave and I keep telling the girls to be grateful, and reminding ourselves as well to do the same, life will be different, there is a void that wont be replaced. You kind of think she was going to live forever, which she will in our hearts and memories.
I'm thankful for our heartfelt conversations, tea dates, the many meals we have shared.
We are grateful that our girls had the pleasure of building a strong bond of love and joy with Grandma, its something most of us don't get to experience with our great grandparents.
Alexis tells us that we need to be brave and that its ok to be sad, but Grandma would want us to smile. So through our tears, we will smile and know that she is resting well.
I use quotes a lot in my day to day life. I think there are a few that I'd like to share that reflect our thoughts and feelings in our time of grief.

" How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard"- A.A. Milne

" If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever"
