Mieczyslaw "Mietek"  Magdziak
Passed away peacefully at home, with family by his side on Sunday, February 25, 2018, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Izabella (Pankasz) Magdziak for 70 years. Mietek was the youngest of eight siblings, survived by his sister, Helena, in Poland. Loving father of Kazimierz Magdziak (Anna), Andrzej Magdziak and Teresa Piasecki (Stan), all of Brantford. Cherished Dziadzia to Eva, Mirek and Misty, Margaret and Victor, Stefan and Joanna, Izabela and Chris, Irena and Dan, Andrzej and Ivy, Mark, Joanna and Paul, Marta, and Anna and Jamie. Doting Super Dziadzia to thirteen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Jozef and Jozefa Magdziak, daughter, Barbara, son-in-law, Wladyslaw, and grandson, Peter. Mietek was born in Poland on May 7, 1927 and came to Canada in 2008 to be closer to his family. He was a retired firefighter with over 30 years service. Mietek enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family and was a passionate beekeeper. The family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St, Brantford on Tuesday (today) from 7-9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Ave, Brantford on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Paris. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made the St. Joseph’s Church Scholarship Fund or to the charity of your choice.
