With heavy hearts we announce that Ralph Thomas Mulligan passed away peacefully May 7, 2017 in his 80th year. Ralph spent his final days surrounded by family and friends at Park Lane Terrace in Paris, Ontario.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Helen nee MacLachlan. He was the proud and loving father of Judith and Brian (Jennifer), adoring Papa of Anthony and Aiden Punturiero, Avery and Reese Mulligan, and Nathan Hagedorn.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents Herbert Mulligan (November 11, 1959) and Ruth Kendrick (January 19, 1999).
Ralph taught Electricity for 28 years (1965-1992) for the Waterloo County Board of Education at Preston High School, and was Technical Director. After his retirement, Ralph returned to his first love, the trade. Ralph took great pride in his workmanship, whether he was working on the home he built in St. George in 1972, “with a little help from his friends” or as the owner of RTM Electric.
Ralph was always available at a moment’s notice for electrical emergencies of neighbours and friends. He cared about his community and was a member of the Sheffield Lions Club for 25 years. Ralph struggled with several health challenges in recent years resulting in a recent move to Paris.
The family would like to thank the staff at CCAC, BSO, BCHS, and Alzheimer’s Society. A special thank you for the love and kindness shown to Ralph and his family, for the care provided by the staff of Sunrise Court at Park Lane Terrace and the attentive care from his physicians.
Cremation has taken place. Private interment will take place at a later date in Mt. Pleasant.
Friends are invited to a luncheon at noon on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the South Dumfries Community Center - 7 Gaukel Drive, St George, Ontario followed by a sharing of memories and a celebration of Ralph’s life until 3 pm.
Donations to Prostate Cancer, Heart and Stroke, Parkinson’s, Brant Community Healthcare Foundation and Brant Community Foundation would be appreciated.
