Daniel Blair  Goodwin
Dan, loving husband of Barbara (nee Godwin) for 50 years, devoted father of Pamela (Tim) Papez and Karen Goodwin, awesome granddad of Aaron and Rebecca Papez lost his courageous battle with Cancer at the Hankinson House (Stedman Hospice) on June 29, 2016. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the wonderful staff of the Hospice. Dan enjoyed a full, happy life deeply involved in family, military, and civilian life. He held the rank of Warrant Officer of the 56th Field Regiment RCA and was Parade Marshall for Remembrance Day observance in Brantford. He was a supporter of local Cadet programs, especially Sea Cadets with his grandson and Thank A Vet activities. He enjoyed singing with the Dofasco Men’s Chorus and Brant Men of Song and was a huge supporter of his daughters and granddaughter in Girl Guides. He was always ready to help when he was needed. The family will receive friends at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 12 noon until the time of the Celebration of Dan’s Life at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Donations in memory of Dan can be made to the Stedman Community Hospice.
