PIATKOWSKI, Walter – peacefully, at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, May 22, 2016, Walter went to be with his Lord and creator, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Jadwiga (1992). He leaves behind his 3 children, Mary Poremba (Bob) of Brantford, Joseph Piatkowski (the late Judy 2010) (Carol Walters) of Brantford, and Teri Carpenter of Calgary. Proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Dr. Cynthia Poremba (Derek Vanderveer) of Toronto, Robert Poremba Jr. (Nicola) of Cambridge, Julie Poremba of Toronto, Jaimie Mason (Rich) of Brantford, Jackie Carey of Brantford, Jessie Tessier (Josh) of Brantford, Courtney Ennis (Brandon) of Florida and Ashley Carpenter (Brent Pryor) of Calgary. Proud Great-grandfather of 9 great-grandchildren, JJ Piatkowski, Jasmine Stiver, Kailey Carey (2012), Logan Carey, Mason Tessier, Abby and Kaylee Tudor, Liam and Jack Ennis and Ellie Rae Pryor. Thank you to all the nurses who took such good care of our father on SP8, especially Audrey and Jackie, who used their superpowers to handle Dad in a way that always left a smile on his face. Thanks to Dr. Grabner and the nurses on SP7 Palliative Care, for making his last hours peaceful and comfortable. Family and friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Rosary prayers recited at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
