Obituary for Jeremy David Scott Oattes
Our angel has earned his wings!! After a brief struggle with cancer, Jeremy left us peacefully in the comfort of his family home surrounded with love. Cherished son and brother of Dave & Cheryl and Ryan (Andrea). Special uncle of Amelia and Lachlan. Waiting to welcome Jer were grandparents Les & Wanda Scott (2017 & 2008) and Merle & Doreen Oattes (2008 & 2012). Missing Jeremy are aunts & uncles Robin & Abe, Dale, Gary and Marilou; and cousins Greg (Michelle, Hannah, Connor, Aria), Matt and Mark (Crystal); Courtney, Kelly and Natalie; and Scott (Alison, Elsie) and Graham. Jeremy will be fondly remembered by his Brantwood family, especially housemates Perry, Marcel and Doug.
Although Jeremy lived with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and all the medical challenges that involved, he enjoyed life and showed us how to appreciate the simple things often taken for granted. He loved walks in all seasons, especially through autumn leaves, music in all forms, listening to stories and spending time with those he loved. Thanks to his Grandpa Scott, Jer had a particular affinity for Smarties and Cheesies! As Jer rolled through life he left footprints on the hearts of those he met. He taught us about acceptance, tolerance and unconditional love.
A Celebration of Jeremy’s Life will take place when it is safe to gather together- date will be announced in The Expositor. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Norwich Gore cemetery at a future date. If wished, donations in Jeremy’s name to Brantwood Foundation or Stedman Community Hospice would be gratefully appreciated. Condolences may be left on Jer’s tribute page at www.tollfh.ca
