Obituary for Lloyd Zimmerman

Lloyd’s soul entered Heaven’s Gate, on Wednesday morning December 22nd, 2021 in his 81st year, after a good fight against dementia. As per his wishes he passed away in his home with the respect and dignity he so deserved. He will be deeply missed by his daughter and best friend Deborah. Predeceased by his wife Muriel, nee (Ordidge) April 29th, 2015. Lloyd is survived by his Mother Mary Helen Zimmerman, who celebrated her 105th year, being the oldest resident of Wentworth Lodge in Dundas. Predeceased by Brothers Wayne, December 23rd, 1965 and Carl, April 13th, 2005. Survived by his Sister Marilyn Ilnisky of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. Survived by his Brothers Barry (Colleen) Zimmerman of Troy and Harvey Zimmerman. Brother-in-Law Wayne (Pete), (Barb) Weaver of Dundas. He will also be missed by Sisters-in-Law Marilynn Zimmerman of Dundas, Carol Zimmerman of Brantford, and all of his nieces and nephews. He was a special Uncle “Unc” to nephew Steve Weaver of Hamilton in the growing up years where Lloyd was so very proud of him. Lloyd was brought up on the farm in Troy with true family values of trust, respect, loyalty and hard work. As the first born of the family, he learned a lot from his Father Ivan in the Saw Mill and the workings of the farm. He then ventured to Tip Top Canners, Watkins Products, Stelco, Bertrums Factory then finally settled at Union Gas. Once he had learned and experienced what he knew, an opportunity opened up at what was then Boonstra & Reiding Ltd. After 25 years, he decided to start his own business, “Beverly Thermal”. These working years led to a vast amount of people he admired and respected, in turn, a lot of people admired and respected Lloyd for the time he gave to people, his patience, his knowledge and friendliness towards them. He was a brilliant man and knew how to fix and repair anything. Lloyd loved to ride his Sunbeam motorcycle in the early days and people recognized him all around the area. The love of ‘riding’ continued throughout his marriage. Lloyd was a member of the Ontario Steam and Antique Preservers Association and loved anything mechanical from an antique Steam Sawyer Massey to anything that provided power. His life with Muriel sadly ended and his wings were clipped, but Lloyd would always turn up the volume when the song “I can’t stop loving you” played. Lloyd was extremely proud of his family and his love for them was infinite and was demonstrated through a lifetime of devotion. Expressions of appreciation to Dr. Holt Turner of Dundas for all his support and advice, let alone the care and compassion from the entire office. This heartfelt appreciation is extended to the Brantford CCAC and the CBI Nurses, and the Stedman Community Hospice Outreach Program. As per Lloyd’s wishes, cremation has taken place with no funeral or visitation upon his passing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford. Should anyone wish to express their condolences donations to the Ontario Steam and Antique Preservers Association, P.O. Box 133 Milton, ON L9T-2Y3 would be appreciated.
