Obituary for Malcolm John Bishop

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Malcolm on November 25, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

Malcolm was predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Barb Little, Rick (Reina), and Nancy (Roger) Chrysler, grandchildren Jennifer, Steven, Stefanie, Scott and Brenda, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Ruth Leitch, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Victor and Emma Bishop, son-in-law Bruce Little, granddaughter Anne Chrysler, and his four brothers Kenneth, Hartley, Victor and Bobby.

While working at Keeprite for over 40 years, Malcolm became better known by many as “Shorty”. Son Rick liked Dad’s name Shorty as it made him feel much taller. His cottage at Turkey Point became known as Shorty’s Place. It is here where he would spend time with his family, as well as boating and fishing. Malcolm was an avid gardener, and loved his time going hunting with his hunting buddies. In his later years, he enjoyed wood carving and travelling from one end of Canada to the other. The trip he most talked about, and wanted to do again, was his trip to Alaska pulling his Boler trailer behind him.

The family would like to thank staff at Parklane Terrace, Brantford General Hospital Palliative Care, and all his neighbours for keeping their eyes out for him. Your kindness, care and compassion are truly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1:30pm. All Covid -19 restrictions will be enforced and patrons will be required to show proof of vaccination to enter the premises. Malcolm will be laid to rest with Marjorie at Farringdon Burial Ground. Donations in Malcolm’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
