WALT, James Edwin “Jim”

1931 - 2021

With heavy hearts we announce the death of Jim Walt who passed away on November 25, 2021 in his 91st year surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents Annie and Andrew Walt of Hanna Alberta and Pearl Merriott of Trenton Ontario. His infant daughter CarolAnne was buried in Calgary Alberta. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eileen, his children Sharon Walt of New Zealand, Lynn Walt-Benson (Ken) of Brantford and Gail Forgie of Edmonton; his grandchildren Tyler (Teresa) Benson, Ryan (Danielle) Benson, Kyle (Chloe) Forgie and Allison Forgie; his great grandchildren Katie and Max, Gus, Fox and Millie, and Alden and Alyssa. Jim was a Korean Veteran in the Canadian Air Force. He retired from Burtch Correction Centre after 26 years of service. He loved travelling and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with family who will miss him dearly. A private family interment to be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to The War Amps of Canada.
