Obituary for Marilyn Windle

Our beloved Marilyn passed away July 18, 2021, in her 72nd year after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Devoted wife of 52 years to husband Peter. Loving mother to Mark (Kristina) and Chris (Kelly). Cherished grandmother of Victoria, Owen, Zoey, Brennen and Caitlyn. Daughter of the late William and Catherine Firth. Dearest sister of Sheila Mawson (Gary), Katherine Wilson (David), William Firth Jr. (Margaret) and a wonderful sister of the late Jeffery Firth. The most precious aunt anyone could ask for – her nieces and nephews will always remember her generous and loving spirit. Marilyn loved to be creative. Whether it was poetry, scrapbooking or decorating her home, each creation was made with love, intention, and an eye for detail. There wasn’t anything this wonderful woman couldn’t do! She spent countless hours teaching all the children in her life how to cook, bake, crochet, hook a rug, and make silly creations. She was a teacher of life with a beautiful heart. There was always something baking at Marilyn’s house. There was a lot of laughter in the kitchen during holiday baking that would eventually end with Marilyn and her sisters collapsing in a fit of giggles. These are the memories to hold close. Above all Marilyn loved her family with every ounce of her being. She was deeply loved by many and will truly be missed. As Marilyn once said, “Memories will always warm the heart and keep us close to our loved ones. ”Respecting Marilyn’s wishes, the arrangements for a small, private funeral service have been entrusted to Toll Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Marilyn would want you to express your love to those you hold dear. Time is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our loved ones.

“And when the night lies over you, and I lay gently dreamin', although the candle burns no more, the journey’s now completed.”
