God has called home a beautiful soul to tend his gardens. Peacefully in her sleep, Norma left us on Thursday April 29th in her 91st year. Predeceased by her parents Neil and Nellie MacKinnon, brother Don MacKinnon, sister Joann Muir and brother-in-law Jack Muir. Cherished aunt of Jamie Muir (Alison), Jacqueline Broaddus Muir (Kirk), John Muir (Cheryl) and Lisa MacKinnon. Great Aunt of twelve, Great Great Aunt of four and sister-in-law to Lois MacKinnon. Norma made many friends during her 44-year career with Bell Canada at which she started as an operator and progressed through the years to end in the Engineering Department. During her early years at Bell, Norma met a best friend. Marlene Evanchuck will miss Norma but will fondly remember over 50 years of friendship, adventure and laughter. Norma’s faith was unwavering and gave back to the community in which she lived her entire life. She was an active member with Sydenham United Church serving on many committees and volunteered with the United Catholic Women’s Association, Meals on Wheels and the Big Sisters program in Brantford. Norma will be sadly missed by her many dear friends who formed the “If Id’s” through their involvement at the Paris Curling and Golf Clubs. This treasured group of friends would find any reason to get together, laugh and party. The family wishes to thank Norma’s loyal neighbours who helped to make Norma’s wish to remain at her own home come true. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Arrangements entrusted to the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford. Donations in Norma’s memory will be gratefully accepted by Sydenham United Church or a charity of your choice. Friends will be received at a celebration of Norma’s life in the coming months.
Live each day as if it were your last,
and garden as though you will live forever.
