Obituary for Robert "Ian" Mundie

Robert Ian (Duke) Mundie
July 11, 1949 – April 20, 2021
Peacefully at home on Tuesday April, 20, 2021 at the age of 71.
Loving Husband of Caroline. Devoted Father of Brandon and Ryan (Cat). Adoring Grandfather to Emelia
and Lauren who brought him so much joy.
He is survived by his Brother Brian Mundie (Donna) of Paris and their children, Stephen (Andrea),
Thomas (Courtney) and Ainsley, Mother-In-Law Willy of Brantford, Sister-In-law Charlotte (Wayne) of
Peterborough and her son Michael (Christine). Ian shared an unbreakable bond with Great Nieces
Jordyn & Courtney. Ian will be missed by many cousins and extended family, including Aunt Atie
Hamstra, Evelyn and Bob Fletcher (and family) of Brantford.
He is preceded in death by his parents Russell & Ruth Mundie, Father-In-law Mike Iking and Nephew
Brett Poelman.
Ian was a dedicated friend to many and cherished time spent with all who were close to him. Ian had a
way of connecting with others and enjoyed socializing with those around him.
Ian had a passion for sports, especially baseball and hockey. He shared many fond memories of his time
spent pitching for the Paris 29ers as well as playing hockey for the St. George Olde Dragons.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ian recognized the
importance of all children having access to sports. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the
Arnold Anderson Sports Fund at www.arnoldandersonsportfund.comwhich promotes the physical,
