My condolences go out to the family of Doug. I had dealings with Doug for many years in the industrial supply business as he called on me selling his cable products. A straight shooter(not in golf lol),excellent with customers and a spokesperson for how salesmen should sell. We did enjoy the sales calls with Doug and had many good times after hours. He will be missed and I thank him for being a great friend.

On behalf of Marg Fernay I would like to send our sincere condolences to Anita and family. Mom and dad thoroughly enjoyed being neighbours with Doug and Anita - lengthy chats in the driveway and seeing all of the projects they had on the go. Mom would love to attend the visitation, however it is just not the best decision right now. Please know she is thinking of you. With sympathy, Marg, Shelly & Russ

I only met Doug 3 years ago but he was a gem. We spent many days having a glass of wine or a great lunch with Anita and Doug and always a few good laughs in the mix . With all Doug's ailments he never lost his dry sense of humor . You will be miss my friend .

He was my first boss in the Electrical wholesale business at Zenith Electric in Holmedale. That was in around 1959, and when circumstances forced a move we both went to Masco Electric in Hamilton. We drove back and forth from Brantford for the next few years and on the day my daughter was hit by a slow-moving car Doug had driven to Hamilton. Not knowing the extent of her injuries we raced back to Brantford to the BGH to find out. That was the day we discovered how fast that old Merc would go - we made it from Masco in Hamilton to the BGH in around 20 minutes - probably a record and my fingerprints are probably still imprinted in that old car’s dash. R.I.P. old friend, good friend , you will be missed. John Oliver, St George, ON
