Florence Eleanor Chapin, at Brierwood Gardens, Brantford on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the age of 98. Daughter of Dr. Cecil Duncombe Chapin and Elizabeth Jane Mintern of Brantford; sister of Ruth Elizabeth Chapin Gould (Harold) of Kitchener and Mary Louise Williamson (Dick) of Brantford, all predeceased. Devoted aunt to Edward Gould of Orillia; Brian and Leslie Gould of Waterloo; and Lionel Gould of Elora. Great aunt (and great-great aunt) of Scott Gould and Janice Baker (Madison, Ryley) of Oakville; Rachel Gould of Washago; David and Melissa Gould (Tavie, Liam, Chase) of Waterloo; David Stubbs and Jennifer Gould (Eleena, Kaylie, Faith) of Cambridge. A life long resident of Brantford, Eleanor worked at the main Brantford branch of Bank of Montreal for 38 years. She was a member of Grace Anglican Church, where for years she was either treasurer of the Chancel Guild or envelope secretary, and organized church coach trips. She was a charter and life member of the Grand River Branch of the United Empire Loyalists of Canada, chapter genealogist for 18 years, and author of the Canadian Haviland Family Genealogy. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Sorority for 17 years, a member of Brantford Pilot Club for 23 years, its secretary for 3 years, and a long time member of the Brantford Probus Club. To the staff at Brierwood Gardens, thank you for your attentive care of Eleanor in her final years. Entombment will take place in the Mausoleum at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford with a gathering later for immediate family.
