Obituary for George Gordon Cooper

It is with great sadness that the family of George Gordon Cooper announce his peaceful passing at the Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the age of 77. Husband of Patricia and loving father of Bob (Emma) and Colin (Nina). Beloved papa of Emily and Sarah. Cherished brother of Murray (Barbara) and Jim (Valerie) and brother-in-law of Sharon, Bob (Mary), the late Barbara (Terry), Bill, Allan Sr., Bev (Robert) and Mary (Brian). He will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Orval and Isabelle Cooper. George was an employee of Stelco Hilton Works for 35 years and farmed in the Onondaga area for 30 years while working at Stelco. After his retirement, he could be found daily at CJ Cooper Automotive, working alongside Colin. He loved to drive around the countryside and went on many road trips, stopping at museums or to talk to a farmer at the side of the road. George was very social and always enjoyed talking with people. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 2-5 p.m. Masks or face coverings are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be in place. **Please make an appointment for visitation by clicking on the RSVP button under the Service Details section of George’s memorial page on the Toll Funeral Home website. A private Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Brant or to a charity of your choice.
