Obituary for John Ruysseveldt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John in his 96th year at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre on Monday, November 23, 2020. Born June 19, 1924 in Denderleeuw, Belgium. John immigrated as a young boy to Lethbridge, AB where he grew up to work as a coal miner and later met his wife, the late Helen (nee:Mogus) of 54 years. Loving father of Richard Ruysseveldt, Deanna Kaufman (Raymond), Linda Micks (Vern), and David Ruysseveldt (Sherry). John will be sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. John's lifetime spanned many years as a farmer and 28 years as a foreman at McLean's Foundry. He was well known for his woodworking and expanding his tool shop, making him a familiar face at the local hardware store. Johnny was a real Engineer at heart. If it was broken, he could fix it. He had a passion for boating and fishing, and the Woodland Camp Park in St. Williams was his second home well into his later years. Respecting Dad's wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements entrusted at Toll Funeral Home. A private family service will follow at a later date where close family will gather to reminisce about his life stories, collection of western movies, and his love for boxed cake. www.tollfh.ca
