Jane Lava (nee Braakhekke), in her 74 th year, passed peacefully from this life into eternity at Brantford
General Hospital on October 23, 2020, from the arms of her loving children and husband into the arms
of Jesus. She is survived by her devoted husband Norbert Lava, her sister Gerda Vandevrie (Wes), and her children.. Lynne Oenema (Howard), Paul Brownlee, Alan Lava, Shari Lava (Ian), Naomi Mariathas (Antony), and Matthew Lava (Beth). She will always and forever be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jeremy Oenema, Jonnathan Brownlee, Crystal Cox, Justin Brownlee, Robert Lava, Kylie Walker, Abby Walker, Judah
Mariathas, Landen Mariathas, Micah Mariathas, Caydence Lava, Makinley Lava, and Rylie Lava, as well
as greatgrandchildren Ethan, Bentley, and Indianna.
Jane was the love of Norbert’s life and cherished deeply by her children. She spent her days taking care
of her family and her church with all she had to give. Her life was fully spent in honour of Jesus and the
call to pastor that she had on her life. She was a friend to all and a comfort to many, a shoulder to cry
on and a wealth of wisdom to all who knew her. Her smile lit up a room and her love changed lives. The
legacy of her life was and will forever be to follow Christ wholeheartedly and live a life fully devoted to
Him. The message of salvation was her life’s work.
A virtual Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, October 28 th at 2:00 PM. The link below will
