It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Erwin Van Dyk, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Karin (2015). Loving father of Annemarie, John, Michael and Steven (Moira). Dear grandfather of Paula, Rebecca, Kendra, Ryan, Rachelle and Nik. Great- grandfather of Julia, Tyson, Hayden, Avë, Sebastian, and Hugo. Faithful friend to his furry sidekick Cleopatra. Erwin was born in Suriname, South America in 1929. He was the second youngest of twelve children. As a young man, Erwin sailed the seas for seven years and met Karin during a stop-over in England. They married in Wales before immigrating to Canada in 1956, where they joined other members of Erwin’s family. Erwin was the owner of Modern Painting and Decorating for over thirty years. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, guitar player and bowler. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
