Brian Edward Cross
May 22nd, 1959 – October 16th, 2020
“It’s all part of growing up.”
A phrase Brian always reminded his girls.
With profound and deep sadness, surrounded by his family, Brian lost his short battle with cancer. Brian’s greatest love was for his wife of 35 years, Leslie. A woman he couldn’t live without. Together they raised 2 daughters, Mackenzie and Lexi whom he loved unconditionally and guided to become their best selves. Brian is also survived by his loving parents Marilyn Cross & Doug (deceased) brothers Larry & David (Heather). Brian was a wonderful son-in-law to Pat & Stan Walker (deceased). Brian is survived by his brother-in-laws Brent Walker and Paul & Yolanda Walker (deceased), Brian was the adoring uncle to many nieces and nephews Somer (Greg) Guymer, Terra Cross, Arica Cross (John), Dakota, Jarrett, Hannah, Arenal, Taylor (Dillon) and Maddy.
Brian was born in Brantford, Ontario. The middle child of three boys. From a young age Brian’s passion included all things hockey related, whose quiet confidence and pride allowed him to soar in his chosen profession, winning the love and admiration of all he touched. Throughout the years team members became life-long friends. The highlight of which was being drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1979 from the Brantford Alexander’s Junior A hockey club. Brian was an individual who marched to his own drum with a wicked, fun-loving sense of humour that will be sorely missed by those who knew him best. In the off season, Brian’s passions included fishing and golfing, creating countless memories that will always be cherished. One of Brian’s proudest moments was winning the Provincials in 2012, with the Bantam A, girls hockey team.
Brian will be sorely missed and remembered by many as he made such an impact on many lives.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family has decided to have a celebration of Brian’s life that will be held at a later date when all family and friends will be able to attend. Donations in Brian’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke or Canadian Cancer Society.
