Obituary for Rita Carrieri

CARRIERI, Rita – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother and nonna, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side on Thursday, October 1, 2020. Devoted wife of Pietro for over 42 years. Cherished mother of Anna and her husband David Squeo, Jimmy and Francesca. Proud nonna of Lucas and Christopher. Survived by mother Clorinda Cuconato and deceased by father Vittorio. Dear sister of Gennarino (Elizabetta) Cuconato, Antonietta (Ippolito) Siciliano of Italy and Pina (Antonio) Pecora of Montreal, QC. Sister in law of Joe (Carmelina) Carrieri. She will also be sadly missed by many other extended family members and friends. She was a person who was loved by so many. She always had a smile on her face and could light up any room. Her number one priority in life, until the very end, was her family. She loved her garden and making homemade meals and cookies for her family, especially her grandchildren. We will never be able to forget a woman so wonderful and full of life. Until we meet again, fly with the angels. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday, October 6th from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. A private family entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery. Please be advised that masks or face coverings are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be in place.

Ti vogliamo tanto bene mamma. Oggi, domani e sempre.
