Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was the loving husband to Shirley (nee McBride), father of Debbie Aziz (Bill), Diane Draper (Miles DeRosse), and Derek Draper (Jenn). A loved Papa who will be missed by grandchildren Stephanie Macyszyn, James and Jillian Aziz, Joshua, Jakob, Joseph and Jamisen Draper. Jim will also be missed by his sister Evelyn Bateman. Predeceased by his sister Dolores “Dot” Laurie. Jim was a retired General Manager of Union Electrical Supply Co. in Hamilton, ON. After retiring he started Watercolour painting, leaving all of us with memories of his talent. In his teens and early adult years Jim could be seen on stage in many productions by the Brantford Drama League or behind the scene directing. He won a Western Ontario Drama League best actor award for his portrayal of “Dan” in the play Night Must Fall. Jim enjoyed golfing in the summer and curling in the winter at the Paris Curling Club and Brant Curling Club in Brantford until COPD took over his life. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey, baseball and football. A life lived fully which will be so missed by all of us, his family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Fairview United Church, Brantford, or to a charity of your choice.
