Obituary for James William "Jim" Davidson

Passed away after a brief illness at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Dianne (nee Sweett) for 49 years. Loving father of Anne (Nathan) Cowan and Paul (Barbara) Davidson. Proud grandfather of Brynlea, William, Sloane and Mila. Dear brother of Arlene Norris and Sandra Davidson. Much loved brother-in-law of Blair Norris and Mike Sweett. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Agnes and William Davidson. Jim loved, watched, participated in and coached many different sports throughout his life. He was very involved with hockey and baseball in Brantford, as well as golf at the Northridge Golf Course. He was an educator for Grand Erie District School Board for 32 years, teaching at both Paris District High school for 25 years and Brantford Collegiate Institute for 7 years. You could often find him at Benmar during classic car night chatting and admiring the cars, looking for deals at area garage sales, or walking the trails with his beloved dogs. Special thank you to first responders, and the staff in the CCU at Brantford General Hospital, particularly Wendy who took such great care of Jim. Family and friends will be received for Memorial Visitation at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Private family service will be held at a later date. Please be advised be that masks or face coverings are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be in place. Donations in memory of Jim can be made to the charity of your choice.
