Obituary for Eva Tombol
June 3, 1939 – July 20, 2020
Peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice on July 20th 2020 in her 82nd year following her brief battle with cancer. She leaves behind sons Frank (Lianne), Steven (Debbie), Richard and grandchildren Taylor and Brandon. Loving aunt of Jozsef (Marti) and their children Jutka, Nora and Gergo. Predeceased by her sister Susan Buranszki. Eva was born June 3rd 1939 in Budapest and left Hungary during the revolution against Russian communism at the age of 18. Arriving January 4th 1957 in St. John, Newfoundland. She traveled across Canada before settling down to marry and raise a family in Brantford. Eva had a successful career as a real estate agent until her retirement, when she began to travel the world. She was an avid gardener and volunteer at St. Joseph's Life Care. At Eva's request cremation has already taken place. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St. Brantford, on Thursday August 13th, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. A private family service will follow in the chapel. Please be advised that masks are mandatory and social distancing is in effect. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eva can be made to the Stedman Community Hospice. www.tollfh.ca
