GRINTON, Donald Gilbert Smith “Don” – passed away peacefully at the John Noble Home on Friday, July 3rd, 2020, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Elsie (nee: Burden) for almost 65 years. Loving father of Donald (Beatrice), the late Margaret, Tim (Paula) and the late Christopher (Carole Poupart). Proud grandfather of Kristina, David. Jennifer, Donald, Zachary, Emmet, Katie, Erik, James and William. Don is also survived by his sister in law Margarette Grinton and many, many extended family members. He is also predeceased by his parents Robert and Jane Grinton and his siblings Helen, Jean, Sue, Bob, Jessie, George and Marshall. Don was employed at the Trans Canada Credit for many years and later, he also enjoyed his career in Real Estate. He was a past Masonic District Deputy Grandmaster and a longtime member of the Scottish Rite. He was an avid golfer and a passionate fan of the Montreal Canadiens. A graveside service for Don will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery on Monday, July 6th, 2020 at 1 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Red Cross would be greatly appreciated.
