Obituary for Reginald Gerald Stanley Rollings

On June 15th, 2020, Reginald Gerald Stanley Rollings passed away peacefully in his 89th year, while holding his daughter’s hand in Palliative Care. He fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Valerie, his loving children Anne (Doug Reeves), Nick (Lynn), and John and grandchildren Sabrina and Jérémy. He is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Gertrude Rollings, and siblings Trevor and Geraldine. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Patricia from England, sister-in-law Wilma from Australia and nephews Paul, Brett and Darren and their families in Australia. Special thanks to the Juravinski Cancer Centre; LHIN, and Bayshore services in providing daily at home nursing and PSW care; the BGH Palliative Care C7 staff (especially Dr. Legere, Gina, Mary, Stephanie, Kaitlynn and Monica) and to Barry for his spiritual support.
Reg was a kind, caring and gentle man. He loved working on cars, was a generous and friendly neighbour and a friend to many, and he enjoyed spending hours in his machine shop at home. We have fond memories of our Dad enjoying camping and cottage trips with the family, Dad fishing in his homemade red punt boat, and designing and machining model trains. He enjoyed his trips visiting family in Australia, and wearing his Australian hats. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. Please be advised that masks or face coverings are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be in place. If desired, donations in memory of Reginald can be made to the charity of your choice.
