Obituary for Catherine "Rena" Fleming

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that the family of Catherine “Rena” Fleming (nee Kane) announce her passing on Saturday, April 11th, 2020, on what was her 90th birthday. Rena is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Robert, her sons Rob and John. Beloved grandmother to Courtney and Kevin, and wonderful caring great-grandmother to her precious treasures Avery, Carter, and Mackenzie. She is fondly remembered and missed by her relatives back home in Scotland and England. Rena is predeceased by her sister Nan and much beloved son David. Rena was born in Dunfermline Fife, Scotland on April 11th, 1930 and immigrated to Canada by ocean vessel in August 1956 where she and her husband located to the City of Brantford and raised their family. Rena will be remembered for her gift of compassion and generosity. She always had time for you and warmly would welcome you into her home. She was selfless, devoted, caring, good natured and a truly wonderful, decent human being. Everyone who met Rena adored her and that love and admiration was evident in the many friends she surrounded herself with over the years. Special mention goes out to all her friends in her Euchre club and more recently her mall coffee group. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Brain Injury Canada or to any animal rescue organization. As per Rena’s wishes, she will be cremated and will remain with her family. Once the state of the world brightens, the family will hold a Memorial and Interment. We love you and we miss you terribly. Rest in Peace.
