It will never be the same without uncle Dave. I always looked forward to seeing him because I knew there were going to be laughs. Every handshake with him was a test of strength and will followed by a laugh with "still got it". The stories he told about his baseball playing days- he swears he could throw a baseball around a corner. When I picture uncle Dave, its of him laughing. He will be missed by all of us.
Rest in peace uncle Dave,
Tyler Thibert and family

God has opened his gates to heaven to a wonderful, loving, hard working man. His soul and smile would light up the room full of people. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. God has got himself a special man that will help the gates of heaven and touch all the hearts of his loved ones. He will never be forgotten. My condolences to the his beautiful wife, children, loved ones and many friends. My thoughts and prayers are with many in this time.

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to Therese and Reginald and family. Meeting David for the first time he was a tough guy with a punch in the arm and a big heart. David had a great sense of humour, telling a joke or two to brighten your day. He was always there to help like a second father offering advice and guidance. The Eley family always made me and my daughters feel welcome in their home which over the years has meant so much to my family . My thoughts and prayers are with the Eley family during this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. It has been my whole life knowing Dave as my Dad and Reg have been friends since kids. Dave always showed a genuine interest in our family and spoke kind words or reassurance during difficult times. I appreciate he being their for us and providing my dad a second father like figure. He will be forever in our hearts.

Lots of good memories of Dave over the years. I remember as kids he would spend loads of time with us in the back yard of my parents house showing us his pitching skills and how to pitch a curve ball. Also his keen interest in fishing. The last time I fished with Dave was on Lake Ontario, salmon fishing, lots of laughs and a time I will always remember. Dave always had a joke to share, and he loved to laugh at his own jokes. Family gatherings will never be the same without him there but he will always be remembered.
Condolences to my sister: Therese and nephew Reg and rest of the family
