Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in his 80th year. Kenneth David (Dave) Pickering. Dearly beloved husband of Marlene (nee Meiers) for 60 years. Loving father of David and Lori and Mark Pickering. Predeceased by his daughter Linda (2017). Cherished grandfather (Pa) of Lindsay, Shayna and Sean Pickering and great-grandpa of Ava May. Beloved brother of Karen and Steve Kovacs, Richard and Michelle Pickering and Jane and Bruce Jackson. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Louise Pickering. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Mentor to many. Dave was a valued member of the Brantford Police Service retiring in 1999 as Staff Inspector having served for 36 years. He was a member of the Retired Police Association, St. George Masonic Lodge, Brantford Scottish Rite, Mocha Shriners and the Ex- servicemen’s cribbage league. Dave served as a board member of St. Leonard Society and was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday, January 24, 2020. from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service to be held at 6:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the Linda D.
