Condolences on the passing of Mr. Dave Pickering.
My memory of Dave was that of him introducing himself to me and other potential recruits at the police station on Greenwich St in 1984. As Staff Inspector Pickering invited me into his office, he welcomed me, and I could sense his respect for the Brantford Police Force (named at that time). As the years passed, my encounters with Dave were few, but he always was professional, but I sensed there was another side to this gentleman. A side that would enjoy good company, and a good laugh.
My sincere condolences to the Pickering family, and his friends.

To the Pickering Family so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Dave when I worked on a joint forces project for a few years out of the old Brantford office. Dave was a tremendous supervisor and always present to offer guidance and support. I learned many valuable lessons from Dave that I carried with me and shared with others throughout my career with the RCMP. A true Gentleman Sir. RIP

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marlene, Mark and David at this time of loss. David was a true friend over 50 years and was a very positive influence on me as a young Police officer. Many wonderful memories will stay with me forever. Rest in Peace.

My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the Pickering family with the loss of a husband, father and grandfather. David was a genuine gentleman and the first to welcome me to the Brantford Police Service back in 1992. We shared many great times together in and outside of work. Rest in Peace my friend. Sincerely Cathy Drinkwater
