Obituary for Teresa Buckle (nee DeGrandis)

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Teresa Buckle announce her passing at the Brantford General Hospital. Surrounded by the love of her family, Teresa was called home by our Lord on Monday, October 7th, 2019, in her 73rd year. Teresa will be reunited in heaven with her best friends - her loving parents Rocco & Angelina De Grandis and her little sister Josie.

Proud and devoted mother to Lisa Francis, David (Sarah) Buckle, Marc (Julie) Buckle and Paul Buckle. Cherished Nonna to Kayla, Dakota, Kolby, Liam, Brady, Ava, Noah and great-Nonna to Stella. Beloved sister to Peter De Grandis, the late Josephine (Maurice) Polidori and Hugo (Piera) De Grandis. Adored Zizi to her nieces and nephews. Cherished by Aunts, uncles and cousins and loved by many friends.

Teresa immigrated to Canada from Pofi, Italy in 1951 with her family. Throughout her life, Teresa was a devout member of the St.Pius X Church community and Catholic Women's League. Her faith and devotion to our Lord was ever present in everything she did. She was a dedicated employee of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board for 20 years and the Brantford General Hospital for 20 years.

Teresa's family was the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Teresa’s kind spirit, immeasurable strength, love of reading, and zest for life will live on through them.

We are so grateful for the many healthcare professionals that have cared for Teresa throughout her journey. A heartfelt thank you to all of our family and friends for your incredible outpouring of love and support. We truly appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.

Friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Thursday, Oct 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Friday, October 11th at 10 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation or ALS Foundation would be appreciated
