The family of Watson Anderson are saddened to announce his sudden passing at home on Sunday, September 22, 2019. He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Lacombe), son Darren (Sharon), granddaughter Darci and his buddy Ace the dog, all of Calgary, Alta., brothers; Jim (Jean) of Fisherville, Ont., Harold (Andy) (Deb) of Saskatoon, Sask., sisters; Donna Milley of Calgary, Alta., Beverly Cook of Brantford, Ont., and sister-In-law Sharon Anderson of Waterford, Ont., along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Watson was predeceased by his parents, Watson and Elizabeth (Coxhead), his infant sister Marjorie and brother Terry. Watson was born and raised in Brantford Ont. attending Grandview School, Graham Bell School and Brantford Collegiate. After leaving school, Watson spent the bulk of the 1960's working In journalism with the Brantford Expositor Newspaper then transitioning into the growing radio and television broadcasting industry at radio stations in London and Brantford, Ont. and the first TV station in Sudbury, Ont. Thereafter, Watson joined the Seagram's Corporation where he spent the rest of his career in sales and management for various wine and spirits divisions of the organization while residing in Hamilton, Montreal, New York, London, England, Burlington and finally in Calgary as a Western Regional Sales Manager where he was well known and loved throughout the hospitality, restaurant and sporting communities. After retiring from Seagram's, Watson operated his own small wine and spirits importing and distribution company for several years. Watson's greatest passion (outside of a good glass of wine!) was golf where he has been an active member of the Willow Park Golf and Country Club in Calgary since 1975. Watson was honoured with an award in recognition for his many years of outstanding contribution to the annual Willow Park Charity Golf Classic that has raised over 11 million dollars for local charities since 1988. Family and friends will be received for visitation at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. A private burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brantford. A celebration of life will be held in Calgary at the Willow Park Golf Course at a date to be announced.
