Obituary for James "Jim" Binkley

It is with profound sadness that the family of Jim Binkley announce his sudden passing at Brantford General Hospital on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Jim was born in Hanover, Ontario to Jack and Betty (Anderson) Binkley on June 27, 1942. He leaves behind years of wonderful warm memories for his beloved family and friends. Missing him are his devoted wife Carol (Kennedy) Binkley, son James, his two daughters Georgina, Katie and their mom Mindy, son J.T. his wife Rose and children Natalie and Jack and five nieces Andrea, Frances, Tracey, Kelly, and Shannon. A lifetime of wonderful friends share both our grief and our memories. We are so blessed to have them. Jim was predeceased by his sister Ann and her husband Philip Smith, his brother-in-law Stewart Kennedy and his wife Fran. Jim had two careers. He was a Chartered Accountant in private practise and then took on the job he loved as a Business Professor at Mohawk College. Jim was an avid and successful curler for most of his life, a model train buff, played fastball for too many years, loved music and travelling. He and Carol spent ten years of their retirement living full time in a travelling fifth wheel. Jimmy, you’re always in our hearts. A special thank you to the staff of the Brantford General ER and Palliative Care for their loving support of both Jim and Carol, especially Dr. Eric Irvine. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Stedman Community Hospice Brantford, Diabetes Canada or the Kidney Foundation. A Celebration of Jim’s Life that we are calling “Jimmy’s Party” will be held at the Charing Cross Reception Suites adjacent to the TOLL FUNERAL HOME - 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford, on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2:00-5:00 PM. There will be an opportunity to share memories.
