Obituary for Robert Searle

It is with heavy hearts we announce Bob’s passing at age 83 at the Brantford General Hospital Palliative Care Unit in the late evening of Thursday, February 21, 2019. Bob is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Anita, his beloved son Jason, his dearly loved daughters Cynthia Gunn (Doug), and Deanna Searle (predeceased by Scott Dickson, 2003). He cherished and was so very proud of his granddaughters Kaileigh Gunn (Dan) and Aspen Searle (Austin). Bob was predeceased by his parents Frank and Ethel Searle (Murden), and his sister Monica Graham. Bob was an avid New England Patriots fan, a golfer, a sailor and a hunter. He played Sunday Morning hockey for over 25 years, and was a founding member of Burford Minor Hockey where he coached teams in different age groups for many years. Throughout his working career and on vacations, he travelled Canada coast to coast; as well as to many European countries, and much of the U.S., plus Mexico, Turkey and Venezuela. “Polish up those clubs Scotty, your caddie is waiting for you on the 1st tee !!” …….“Dad, we’’ll still do that fishing trip, just at a later date.”
Friends will be received at the Dennis Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford on Tues. Feb. 26, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the adjacent Reception Suite.
Memorial donations to the Brant Community Health Care System or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

The family of Bob Searle would like to thank Dr. A. M. Connelly, Dr. D. Downie and Dr. Brian Lee for their caring and compassion toward Bob; the excellent care from all of the staff on Medical B6 and the Palliative Care Unit at the Brantford General Hospital.
Very special thanks to friends and neighbours for visits, calls, messages, as well as clearing of snow and ice, offers of help of any kind, …….
