Obituary for Fiorella Gallo

A mix of sadness and awe are felt as we witness the full cycle of life and Fiorella’s incredible strength. No words can express the loss that is felt by our family as we say goodbye to the center of our lives. We are so fortunate to have known someone who makes saying goodbye so difficult. She kept us close and taught us how to love full heartedly and selflessly. She was our fire and our calm; our heart, and our soul. She was the wife that added laughter and spice to your day and the mother who loved fiercely and hugged softly through all seasons of motherhood. She was her grandchildren’s lullaby, and the ultimate mother-in-law; always there to make us laugh and to celebrate the ordinary with cake. She was a best friend to the nieces and nephews that she loved so greatly. She was the girlfriend that made you smile, picked you up and pushed you forward. She made the broken beautiful and strong. She was the ultimate Matriarch, a beloved Mother, Wife, Sister, Nonna, Zia, and friend. She beat us all at cards and looked glamorous while doing it. She cherished the daily espresso drop in’s from family and friends. She was so many things to so many people. She was captivating, fierce and strong, loving and passionate, authentic, confident, independent and irresistible. Her energy, heart, and smile were BIG. She will always be bigger than life and will forever be our constant ray of sunshine. She left this earth surrounded by the love of those who were near and far. Thank you for all you taught us, even until your final moments. The center of our universe, the world is no longer the same but we will continue to live a life full of love in her honour.

Fiorella will be lovingly remembered by her life partner and husband of 44 years Dino. Adored mother of Sabrina (Matthew). The fun times with Nonna will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Hudson & Penelope. Sister to Pina, sister-in-law to Graziella & Toto Giorgio, Leonardo & Angela Gallo, Gina & Tony Occhipinti, Dina & Pino Strazzeri. Zia to Paolo (Becky), Lisa (Eddie), Linda (Mark), Silvana (Tim), Tania & Carmello (Lauren), Enzo (Carmela), Pino, Enza (Michelangelo) and a host of long-time cherished friends. Predeceased by her parents Antonietta Tassone & Gennaro Modesti, and loving in-laws Concetta LoCicero and Giuseppe Gallo.

Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate Fiorella’s life will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 8th, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum, Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris.
