Obituary for Nora May Smith

The family of Nora Smith sadly announces her sudden passing on Friday January 25 at St.
Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton. Reunited with her loving husband, Bill Smith (2013).   Loving and
proud mother of Lee Ann Armstrong (Becky). Step-mother of Gail Morgan (Don) and Lona
Robinson (John). Proud grandmother of Brooklyn Brennan and Ryan Steeves. Great-grandma to
Ryker. Grandma to her four-legged baby, Oscar. Predeceased by her mother Lorraine (1975)
father John (2013) and brother Wayne (December 2018). Lovingly remembered by step mother
Leween Francis, brother Scott Francis (Glenna), and sister Terri Mellors (Glenn), sister-in-law
Heather Phillips.  Dearest Aunt to Kelly Francis, Craig Mellors (Alisia) and Heather Norden
(Drew), Dean Phillips (Pam) and Stacey Dobbie (Mark).Step siblings to Kathy Vincer, Jane (Tim)
Litman, Eric(Saskia) Litman, Mary Ann (Jeff) Dunham, Marcus(Karen)Litman and all their
children. Nora spent most of her working career at ASCO Electric (Emerson Technologies) Her
true passion was to fish with anyone who would go with her, second only of her love to cook
and feed her friends till they couldn’t eat any more. She also loved gardening in her backyard
with her collection of frogs.  Nora was a member of the Brant Figure Skating Club along with her
family for many years. She was a beautiful skater and her talents gave her the opportunity to
travel the world as part of the cast of Holiday On Ice. Nora fought a valiant battle with cancer
for over 10 years.  She showed everyone around her what it meant to never give up. To fulfill
Nora’s wishes, her daughter Lee Ann and daughter-in-law Becky, invite all of her friends and
family to join them in a celebration of life (drink and food) at The Arlington Hotel (106
Grand River St North) in Paris Ontario on Saturday February 2 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. In llieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Stedman Community
Hospice (Hankinson House) or buy a plant and plant it in your garden.
