It is with great sadness the family of Jay Shewchuk announces his sudden passing on Friday, January 18, 2019 in Panama City Beach, Florida at the age of 71. Beloved husband and soulmate of Pat (McDonald) for over 48 wonderful years. Devoted father of Jamie and his wife Elizabeth, Joel and his wife Colleen. Adored grandpa (pop) of Brealle, Corra, Madison, Jack and Georgia. Great grandpa of Reign. Jay was the son of the late Jack and Helen Shewchuk, brother of Candace and her husband Dr. Rick Freeman, the late Marcia and her husband John Drummey. Brother-in-law of the late Paul McDonald, John and his wife Susan, Rick and his wife Mary. He will be sadly missed by many cousins, close friends and golf buddies.
A Celebration of Jay’s life will be held at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Saturday February 23, 2019 in the chapel at 1 p.m. with reception to follow in the Charing Cross Reception Suites. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
