passed away peacefully with family beside her on January 22, 2019 at Brantford General Hospital at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Elton Battler and loving mother of Don (Linda) of Brantford ON, Brian (Bev) of Brantford ON, Ken (Marie) of Kincardine ON and Keith (Linda) of Kincardine ON. Missed by grandchildren Jennifer, (Terry ), Jo-Anna (Ron), Scott Battler (Tammy Miller), Randy Battler (Eli Chima) Jeff Battler, Will Battler (Denise McKay), Nick Battler and Troy Battler (Hannah), Easton Battler (Christine Starke) and Mercedes Battler (Mikael Novak); 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Dear sister of Mabel Zinn of Woodstock. Predeceased by her parents Remington and Myra Bullock and brother Bob Bullock and sister-in-law Betty. Marjorie will be remembered, among many other things, for her enquiring mind, her many talents from culinary arts to calligraphy to playing the piano and of course, for her jokes (good or bad, they made us laugh). She loved life, she loved her family and she loved to be surrounded by people. Nothing pleased her more then to have a good conversation with someone on any topic – it didn’t matter – as long as she was conversing and sharing a thought or chuckle with someone else. Marjorie had several physical ailments in her later years, but despite poor vision, poor hearing and being confined to a wheelchair, she always looked on the positive side of life without complaint. Hers was an indomitable spirit that embraced what each day had to offer and revelled in the sheer joy of life – she will be greatly missed by her loving family, relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Life to remember Marjorie will take place Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. Family and friends will be received at the Charing Cross Reception Suites adjacent to TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St. Brantford. Following Marjorie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
