With profound sadness we share the passing of Helen “Nellie” Bell-Burt on Tuesday December 25th 2018 in St John’s, Newfoundland. With her loving husband Paul Burt at her side. Nellie was born on December 22nd 1938 in Bay De Verde, Newfoundland. She passed days after her 80th Birthday. While a resident of Brantford she was a dedicated employee at Sears and Versa Care. Nellie is predeceased by her parents Andrew & Mary Riggs, her husband Paul Bell Sr. and her son Paulie Bell. Mourning this loss are Nellie’s son Johnny Bell (Karen), and her daughters Jeani Smiley (Paul) and Cathy Colling (Todd). Nanny will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Karlee, Shane (Michele), Cody, Kassie, Jenna, Katie, Jordan and Taylor (Chris). She was a loved Great Nanny to Bentley & Camden. Nellie is survived by her loving sister Joanne Claps & sister-in-law Phyllis Clements. She will be fondly remembered with love by her Burt family in Newfoundland. Carl (Donna), Gary (Beverley), Keith (Thelma), Scott (Dawn) along with their children and grandchildren. The Bell family wish to share wholehearted love & appreciation to Nellie’s husband Paul Burt and daughter-in-law Donna Burt and the entire Burt family for their dedicated care of Nellie. To honour her wishes cremation and funeral have taken place in Newfoundland. A private service will be held in Brantford.
