Obituary for Louis G. Karmiris

KARMIRIS, Louis - It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Louis G. Karmiris at the age of 77 on November 10th, 2018, surrounded by the family he loved. Devoted husband to Patricia, adoring father to George Lou and his wife Betsy, Vicki and her husband Phil Caridi and Constantine and his wife Lisa. Proud and loving grandfather to Louie, Tommy & Peter, Athena, Philip & Nicholas, Patia, Lucas & Alexia. They were his pride and joy. He called them, his stars. Predeceased by his parents George and Stavroula and his adoring sister Evelyn, all of Greece. Survived by his brother Bill (late wife Florence) Denise and many brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews. Lou was a devoted family man who immigrated to Canada in 1965 at the age of 24. He worked in different factories until he became a respected Realtor in 1974. He was one of the most influential Realtors for over 30 years and proudly owned his own Century 21 office. His greatest passion was spending quality time with his grandchildren. He proudly and patiently taught them how to golf, loved hosting BBQ’s while they swam, watched all their sporting events and was their biggest fan. He enjoyed being a cantor for 20 years at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Brantford and was a Past President of The Hellenic Community of Brantford. He was always the person we turned to for advice and was a huge rock in our family. We will hold him in our hearts forever. Family & friends will be received at Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday, November 13th from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Prayers recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, November 14th at 11a.m. at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 475 Park Rd North. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke or the Diabetes Foundation, would be appreciated. www.tollfh.ca
