Obituary for Iolanda Petrella

PETRELLA, Iolanda (nee: Pace) – it is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Iolanda, on Friday, October 26, 2018, in her 83rd year. Iolanda has entered into eternal rest and peace and reunited with her beloved spouse Salvatore (2013). Loving and devoted mother of Marisa McDougald, Dino and Melodie Petrella and Paula Petrella. Proud and loving grandmother to Paul (Jenanne), Elisha, Luke, Derek and Michael, whom deeply treasured and cherished their nana. Beloved sister of Anna Del Signore, Lucia (Nerino) Cretella, Domenica (Carmine) Garofalo, Silvana (Alessio) Lauretti, Luigi (Martha) Pace, Aldo (Giovanna) Pace and Frank (Maria) Pace. Also left to mourn are her siblings-in-law Violetta Pace, Tony Petrella, Elisa Petrella, and Vincenza DiCesare. Predeceased by her parents Edoardo and Maria Pace, brother Antonio Pace (2018), sister Assunta Santangelo (2018), siblings-in-law Antonio Santangelo, Cosimo Del Signore, Maria and Lawrence Lashko, Erminia Petrella, Giovanna and Vittorio Pace, Gaetano Petrella and Vittorio DiCesare. Iolanda will be fondly remembered and missed by all her nieces, nephews and friends. She was a founding member of the Madonna Della Libera and enjoyed many special occasions with family and friends at the Rossini Lodge. Iolanda loved music, singing and dancing. She will be remembered also for her wonderful cooking and love of food. Special thank you to Dr. Auchinichie and nurse Susan, the doctors and nurses at the Brantford General Hospital on ER, CCU and C7. Family and friends will be received at the Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service held on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Paris. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
