A beautiful life filled with love and joy ended on October 22, 2018. Karen-Ruth leaves behind her beloved husband Audie, daughters Kate (Travis) and Joanna (Raymond) and grandchildren Alexis, Seion, Ian, Isla and Spencer. She is survived by her siblings Randall, David, Warren, Christine, Shelley and their families as well as her in-laws Leo, Eydie and Arthur and their families. Karen-Ruth spent her career helping people through her work at the Children’s Aide Society, the Grand Erie District School Board and Community Living Brant. She loved bringing people together, crafting, singing and serving her church. She was a founding member of the Brant Belle-a-Dears. Karen-Ruth’s generous heart and joyful laugh will be dearly missed, but fondly remembered. Audie, Kate and Joanna are deeply grateful to those who helped them care for Karen-Ruth in her last years and days, especially Jayne and Jennifer, the staff at the Stedman Community Hospice (Hankinson House) and the Palliative Care Outreach Team. The family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 57 Brant Avenue, Brantford at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Ev. Lutheran Church or to the Stedman Community Hospice.
