Often they say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. If that is any indication, then Robert Henwood was a fine, upstanding man, one of the finest. I have never met him, but I know him because I know his apple, his son, David Henwood. Dave was a regular around our house when we were growing up and a faithful and loyal friend to my brother Pat. He was and is (I can say is, because such people do not change) the kind of guy you could rely on to be there when you needed him, to share a laugh and a joke and to be there when things got tough. He was and is the type of friend everyone wanted to have and to be. Dear Dave, thank you for all that you have been to our family, especially to Pat. My heart is heavy with the news of your loss, but if you are the apple and he the tree, then I know that the goodness and loyalty in Robert Henwood lives on in his son David.
