Obituary for Joseph Byron Hodges

Joseph  Byron   Hodges
Passed away suddenly on April 27, 2018 at the Brantford General Hospital at the age of 76. Loving father of Donald Hodges (Janice) and Kerri-Ann Hodges. Cherished grandfather to Jenahl, Tyarr, and Dyshane. Survived by his siblings Edna, Linda, Hazel, Myra, Enid and Sydney, and countless nieces and nephews.

Joseph was born in Jamaica and worked as a Welder at CJ Williams & Sons in Westmoreland Jamaica. He immigrated to Canada in the early 90’s. During his time in Canada, Joseph spent time living in Montreal, and Toronto but eventually moved to Brantford where he spent the rest of his life. Joseph worked as a custodian at W. Ross MacDonald School for the visually impaired and deafblind, and was passionate about his work until his retirement.

Joseph will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Friends and family will be received at TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford for visitation on Friday, May 11th, 2018 from 11:00am - 1:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm in the chapel with reception to follow at the Charing Cross Reception Suites, adjacent to the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
Cremation. Interment will take place at a later date at Oakhill Cemetery.
