Unexpectedly at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday April 10, 2018. Arcangelo Martino in his 76th year. Beloved husband for 42 years of Stella. Loving father to Daniela and her husband Shane Peach, Lisa, and Maria and her husband Chris Medeiros. Loved Nonno to Abigail, Charlotte, Sofia and Luca. Dear brother of Angiolina Agriesti, and Antonietta and Vincenzo Minutillo (Italy).
Pre-deceased by his parents Leonardo and Maria Martino, sister Lucietta Bolognone, brothers-in-law Pierino Agriesti and Michele Bolognone. Will be sadly missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, his many nieces and nephews and his dear friends. Arcangelo emigrated to Canada in 1966. He taught French for 30 years with the BHNCD School Board, he enjoyed teaching Italian classes for several years. Arcangelo enjoyed learning, continuing his intellectual studies which resulted in him publishing books on Italian Heritage and the Franco-Provenzale Dialect. He served as Italian Vice-Counsel for Brant County for over 35 years, and was a recipient of the Queens Jubilee Medal. Friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Saturday April 14, 2018 from 6-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Monday April 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. Entombment Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum, to follow. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association appreciated.
