On August 10th, 2012 in his 48th year, after a valiant battle with cancer, Rik passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. One and only love of Kathy (nee Blendeman) and cherished father of Brittney and Ricky Jordan. Beloved son of Fred and Melina Martorano, and loving brother of Mary (Manny) Salem and Marco (Elizabeth) Martorano. Fun-loving uncle of Bianca (Brian), Krista-Marie, Mikayla, Mya and Markie. Grandson of Maria Martorano. Rik is predeceased by Grandparents Giuseppi and Caterina Cali, Ferdinando Martorano, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rik was honourable and compassionate, and cherished his family and friends. He was extremely dedicated to his job and always with a smile on his face he provided unending support to all of his clients. Heartfelt thanks to CCAC/CBI nurses Irena, Val, Beth, BJ and Tracey who provided gracious comfort and care for Rik; Dr. Michael Marcaccio and Dr. Kevin Zbuk, who went above and beyond for Rik and his family. Many thanks to Rik’s clients and staff for their understanding and unending support, during his illness. Family and friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Vigil Prayers Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 10 am. Cremation to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cremation Centre. Donations to The Juravinski Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.
