Obituary for Elizabeth Teny

Elizabeth Teny (nee Peruschek)
Reunited in heaven with her beloved parents and brother; a day after her 78th birthday, surrounded by her family.
If you ever had the good fortune of meeting her, you would know that she had the sweetest, gentlest soul, and had the kindest, most loving heart. For those of you that did not have that privilege during her lifetime, well it sucks to be you!
She was so many things to so many people, including, but not exclusive to:
For over 61 years, she was Lois Lane to her husband Martin's Clark Kent. He fell for her piercing blue eyes, and she loved that he was tall, dark, and handsome. They loved, honored, and cherished each other, every single day. If you are seeking a couple that personifies relationship goals, look no further, they've got it covered.
A patient angel, she raised five rambunctious kids. She did it with copious amounts of love, boatloads of humor, buckets full of compassion and the following three staples: an endless supply of wooden spoons, slippers she was somehow able to boomerang around any corner; and the ever ominous "wait until your father gets home".
An adoring Oma, nothing made her happier than having first in line spoiling privileges to five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. There was nothing better than snuggling up on Oma's lap and having her sing you to sleep with her favorite German lullaby.
A great listener, she talked on the phone for hours with her sister, whom she loved so dearly.
A hopeless romantic, she was an avid reader of Harlequin Romance novels, whose collection was so vast, she may have single-handedly paid Fabio's bills for an entire year.
A curious mind, she was the unofficial captain of the neighborhood watch, surveilling the action on the street while perched in "her chair". She saw EVERYTHING, and dutifully reported back to her family the shenanigans she had witnessed throughout the day.
In the end, she passed as she had lived - peaceful, humble, shunning the spotlight. It is now up to all her family and friends to shine the light, brightly, on her absolutely deserving soul.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life / Open House will be held in her honor on September 29 from 1-4pm
