Obituary for Gary Owen Wagner

WAGNER, Gary Owen- Age 68, of Brantford, passed away peacefully after a brief but hard fought battle with Leukemia on Sunday August 26, 2018 at the Brantford General Hospital.

Gary is predeceased by his father Russel (2007) and will be dearly missed by his mother Mildred Wagner (Hamel). Gary leaves behind his daughters Stephanie Wagner of Waterloo, ON and Christine Laverty (David) of Burton, NB and is predeceased by his son Andrew (2000). Gary also leaves behind his adored granddaughter Fiona Laverty.

Gary, the eldest of his siblings, will be missed by his sister Janice Fink (Richard), and is predeceased by his brother Thomas (1994). He will be missed by his niece Jennifer, his great niece Hunter Isla, and his beloved Aunt Betty.

As a graduate of the University of Waterloo in chemical engineering he held jobs at several companies before starting his own business, Galaxy Tolling. He was proud of the company he built and the accomplishments he achieved.

In his spare time he was an avid amateur genealogist who loved unraveling the mysteries of his ancestors and sharing these findings with his family. He took delight in feeding and watching the many types of birds at the numerous feeders in his backyard and in recent years found great enjoyment in the friendships he developed in his neighbourhood.

The family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Donations in memory of Gary can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and the Brant County SPCA.
