Peacefully with his family by his side died May 13, 2018 at the Brantford General Hospital. Mario Lucente born May 28, 1925 in Pratola, Italy. Loving husband for 69 years of Antonina (nee Colaiacovo). Loving father to Raffaele and his wife Lorraine, Leo and his wife Jayne, Wally and his wife Carmen, and Mario Jr. and his wife Margaret (Peggy). Loved nonno to Julie (Brian), Vince, Beth (Brett), Eric, Wally Jr., (Heather), Kassia (Anthony), Stephanie (Rodney), Kristyn (George), and Ryan. Great nonno to Wally, Levon, Myles, Evelyn, Harper and George. Pre-deceased by two brothers Americo and Gaetano. Fondly remembered by other family and many dear friends. Special thanks to Mike and Laura Colaiacovo for their kindness and help to Mario. He was a founding member of the Maria S.S. Della Libra Society and instrumental in assisting many Italian immigrants to settle in Canada. Mario was active in the International Villages, and a retired thirty year employee of Keeprite. He was an avid gardener and above all, loved and cared for his family. Friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. with Parish Prayers at 6:45. Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Church, 133 Murray Street, Brantford on Thursday May 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. Entombment Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum, Holy Cross Cemetery.
