Obituary for Eva Blanche MacAskill

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in her 98th year. Eva was the loving wife of her beloved late husband Norman Edward (2013). Loving mother of Gary, Jim (Karen), Clayton (Marcella) and Valerie (Tim). Proud grandmother of Staci, Alicia, Craig, Colin, Caitlyn, Justin, Tamara and Miranda. Cherished great-grandmother of Taylor and Jayden. She is missed by her special loving fur-friend Joey. Eva was predeceased by her parents James Edgar and Blanche Massiah, brothers Julian, Frank, James and Gordon and sister Eunice of Sydney, N.S.
Eva was a long-time faithful member of Heritage United Church, a former member of the YMCA, a Scout Mother, a member of the Eagle Place seniors group and the Band, who entertained other seniors in retirement and nursing homes. We give special appreciation for the care and support given to mother by PSW’s Bev, Faye and Sandra, VON Nurses and to Dr. Bernadette McNeil and Nurse Shelley of the Stedman Community Hospice. The family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 12:30 until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Randy Mackenzie to officiate. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations in memory of Eva can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Stedman Community Hospice, Sydenham-Heritage United Church or the charity of your choice.
